Who we are
Here's the deal, The Fort Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. The Fort is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.
Where we come from
The Fort Church was started in 2011 as a church plant out of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL. GABC answered the call to start a church in the Ft. Mitchell area, that was truly welcoming to everyone - where everyone had a seat at the table regardless of personal history, family background, ethnicity, or gender. The Fort hosted its first gathering on Easter Sunday 2011 in the cafeteria of Mt. Olive Elementary School.
Our mission is summed up into two words : Revive & Restore. We get that from what Jesus said, recorded in John 10:10 which says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." We desire above all things to see people be Revived spiritually from the dead and lives Restored back to wholeness in God.
One thing we hate to see, is for a church to close their doors. We ask the question, how does a dying church bring glory to God? By the grace of God The Fort Church has been a part of the revitalization of four different churches that were on the verge of closure. Where previously there were four dying churches, there is now four vibrant congregations serving in those communities.
